I made that kind of expression for the first 3 months running Essentials Indonesia<\/strong>. Coming from a print media background, a website is a whole new world for me, \u00a0I ain\u2019t know sh*t!<\/p>\n

I got a lot to catch up, in within the first month of operating, we need to make our website up and running, that\u2019s when I heard about a solution for a graphic designer like me to make a website without coding, introducing:<\/p>\n

We loved it! It was easy to build, it got nice parallax effects (for those of you who don\u2019t know what parallax is,\u00a0creativebloq.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0explained it really well: One big web design trend of the moment is parallax scrolling, which involves the background moving at a slower rate to the foreground, creating a 3D effect as you scroll down the page. It can sometimes be overwhelming, but when used sparingly it can provide a nice, subtle element of depth.).<\/p>\n

Until \u2026 we heard about the responsive website (Responsive web<\/b>\u00a0design (RWD) is an approach to\u00a0web<\/b>\u00a0design aimed at crafting\u00a0sites<\/b>\u00a0to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience\u2014easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling\u2014across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).<\/p>\n

And everything that we built with pride fell apart \u2026<\/p>\n

PARALLAX IS NOT RESPONSIVE!<\/h2>\n

OH NO! SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO ABOUT IT? BECAUSE GOOGLE WANTS YOUR WEBSITE TO BE MAXIMIZED IN MOBILE.<\/p>\n

A lot of you guys maybe have the same question as we did, and also lots of our clients. Unfortunately, you can\u2019t have both. The way around this is to create a different, specific mobile version for your web. You can actually see this in the URL, for example, xxx.m.yourdomain.com<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0xxx.yourdomain.com\/<\/strong>phone. To get around Google specification of responsiveness you will need to do some settings in your website and webmaster dashboard, it\u2019s a tad complicated and it is better to leave this to the pros.<\/p>\n

Our final take on this matter is, you need to choose what is best for your business. For website design agencies like us, visual is everything, so we are willing to take the longer route. But if you are a portal or a financial institute, we are suggesting to go with a responsive website, but make sure your designer uses great images and focuses on user experience, faster websites are better for you guys.<\/p>\n
